Project Update 23

June 3, 2024

The Sherbourne Valley Project Team hosted an evening of updates on what the project has been delivering over 2023, and our exciting plans for the future. The evening included updates from project manager Caz Bailey, and the majority of the project team, showcasing all of the elements of the project and how they come together to improve the River Sherbourne for the people of Coventry.

The presentation was followed by the annual volunteer awards ceremony, honouring the amazing support received throughout the year from our lovely volunteers. A variety of refreshments and a well received cheese board were put on by the team throughout the night, catering to all dietary requirements.

In the spirit of fun, we finished the evening with a short festive quiz, including a Christmas themed audio round. As a team, we love hosting these annual updates, as a way to show the results of our hard work, and give back to those who support the project so relentlessly and have such passion for Coventry and the River Sherbourne.

The project aims to re-naturalise the River Sherbourne which flows through Coventry, improving it for nature and for local communities. There will be several elements to this particular restoration project, all of which will have a positive effect on the river and surrounding area in both short-term and long-term scenarios.
