Throughout the project we will be releasing several films dedicated to the River Sherbourne. These films will dive into the restoration work of the project, and educate about the history, wildlife and future of Coventry.
The first project film “Restoring the River Sherbourne” has been released. This documentary shows an inspiring glimpse into the heart of the work of the project. Journey through the aims of our restoration works as we paint a picture of what the river will become once works are complete.
Witness the vision of the ambitious Sherbourne Valley Project in stunning detail.
Our project films won’t just cover the present, and will offer a window into the past and future of the River Sherbourne. Get ready for films that delve into Coventry’s rich history, the hidden stories of the Sherbourne Valley, and the incredible biodiversity it supports. These films are more than just great visuals, they are an exploration of heritage, nature and the vision that drives us to protect the River Sherbourne for the foreseeable future. In 2023, The Sherbourne Valley Project contracted Derek from Twindl Ltd. to use a laser scanner to create a digital copy of the river as it journeys through the culvert. To complete the picture, he also walked and scanned the city above the river, so you can easily see where the river flows underneath your feet.
Whilst scanning the culvert below the city centre, we sent along a videographer to capture the creation of this digital copy of the river, and tell the story of the nature that lives there. As a result, we have produced several videos, from digital flythroughs of the scans to a short documentary of the culvert, which were shown during an exhibition in The Litten Tree Building throughout March and April of 2024. You can see these videos below.
